Sovereign Bank Robbery - Frederick MD
NCIDENT/ INFORMATION: Bank Robbery at Sovereign Bank
On Wednesday, March 17th at 4:32 PM the Frederick Police Department responded to a Bank Robbery at the Sovereign Bank on Opossumtown Pike. Bank employees told FPD Dispatch that a black female wearing a black hat and dark jacket had just robbed the bank, leaving with an undisclosed amount of US Currency.
Arriving on the scene quickly Frederick Police set a perimeter and Officer Snyder and his K-9 were able to track the suspect from the bank under Route 15, through a drainage culvert, and out onto the East side of Rout 15. Along the Track several items of evidence were located and collected. The track dissipated on the East side of Rt. 15 and MSP Helicopter, Trooper III, assisted several members of the Frederick Police in searching this area for the suspect, or further evidence, but were not successful.
Frederick Police Detectives, Tokarz, Morgan, and Renninger continued the investigation and were able to identify a suspect. At 7:20 PM Detectives positively identified the robber as Ebony Latish Green, with a date of birth of 5-30-84, of the 700 block of Heather Ridge Dr. in Frederick MD. Green was taken into custody outside her residence without incident at this time.
Detectives prepared and served Search and Seizure warrants on Green’s residence and vehicle which were served in the early morning hours of Thursday. The searches resulted in the recovery of several items of evidence, to include US Currency, believed to have come from the Bank Robbery.
